President's Day Coin Finger Puppet Crafts

I just love these President's Day Coin Finger Puppet Crafts. The idea of using the coins for the faces is brilliant.  Fun and easy to make, these crafts can teach about the presidents, American history, and money at the same time.

Materials:

  • black and blue construction paper
  • white paper
  • scissors
  • tape
  • a penny and a quarter

Directions:

  1. Cut a 3 inch square from both color construction paper.
  2. Roll the squares into a tube to fit around your finger and tape in place.
  3. Tape the coins near the top of the tubes.
  4. For Lincoln, cut a narrow triangle for the front of the suit. Draw on a bow tie and tape below the penny.
  5. Cut a thin, black rectangle and tape for Lincoln's hat.
  6. Cut a small blue square from blue paper.
  7. Fold in half diagonally to make a triangle shape. Cut a slit on the bottom and slip over Washington's head.
  8. Cut a white ruffles shape and tape on for the front of Washington's shirt.
